Verizon experiencing texting outage

Verizon says it is experiencing a network issue that is affecting some customers’ ability to send text messages.

The Twitter account for Verizon’s customer service has been responding to countless messages from frustrated customers this morning about the problem.

An outage map on DownDector.com showed issues up and down the East Coast, especially from Philadelphia to New York, and parts of the Midwest.

In the Wilmington area text messaging appears to still be working, at least for some customers.
